USDA TARGET Disability Mentoring Day Event

Thursday, October 22, 2015 - 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM EDT
TARGET Center hosted a group of Washington area high school and college students with disabilities and provided activities and information related to hands-on programs, job shadowing, and ongoing mentoring. Students will received a tour of the USDA TARGET Center, gained hands-on experience with assistive technology, and had the opportunity to shadow USDA employees from supported programs.

Discover How Ergonomics Can Promote Health and Reduce Secondary Injuries

October is National Ergonomics Month. Learn how ergonomic prevention strategies in the workplace can reduce the incidence and impact of musculoskeletal injuries, illnesses, and disorders. Discover how ergonomics can limit secondary injuries for individuals with disabilities.

OPEDA and TARGET Ability Awareness Campaign Kick-Off

Thursday, October 1, 2015 - 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM EDT
OPEDA and TARGET Center join in partnership to increase awareness of the abilities of all individuals at USDA and support the Department of Labor’s National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) 2015 theme: “My Disability Is One Part of Who I Am.” Join us as we welcome Disability Employment Program Manager, Alison Levy discussing Professional Development. The TARGET Center Ability Awareness Campaign Kick-Off will initiate 6 months of inclusive classroom training, technology-focused events, and webinars which aim to provide a better understanding of the value of individuals disabilities in the workforce. The full roster of events will be announced during the event, which will be streamed lived for customers outside the NCR.
